Notes: Revised edition. Originally published as Red Rock Country, by Doubleday, in 1972, then reprinted by UNM Press in 1983. This revised edition has new text, maps, photographs (including color), figures, charts and a bibliography, with the new text being much more readable. Baars was a professional petroleum geologist and professor, and conducted river trips through the Grand Canyon. Hard-core geology, not for amateurs, though there’s enough history here to make it interesting for amateurs. The first edition is also available.
