Condition: Fair to Good. Binding tight. No marks, tears, bends or folds. Very light edge and corner wear. Appears unused.
Notes: If it wasn’t the Mexicans, it was the Apaches, or maybe the Confederates. Tough job in a tough country. Fort Selden was abandoned in 1877, reopened for conflicts with the Apache, then closed again in 1888. As for the excavation–” One latrine associated with the enlisted men’s barrack and a second latrine behind on the officer’s quarters were excavation in January of 1975. During January and February of 1976, Caperton supervised excavation of the post magazine and four additional latrines, with two more latrine vaults tested.” (From the Introduction, page 16). I’m reminded of a line from Firesign Theater to insert here (“But, but, but…Mrs. Kresky”), but since this is a family show….
