Notes: Pamphlet (54 pages). “Book number 2 in a series of studies concerning the history of Lincoln County, New Mexico and its environs.” Myers was an avocational historian, a veteran of World Wars I and II, and Korea. He wrote more than a hundred articles and booklets. Fort Stanton, 9 miles from Lincoln, New Mexico, was established in 1855, to protect civilians from the Mescalero Apaches, and was for a time home to the “Buffalo Soldiers” of the Ninth and Tenth Cavalries.
