Goggin, rather than a collection of writings by others. Goggin was a student of Donald Brand at the University of New Mexico, where he received his B.A. in 1938, and began his career studying the Pueblo Indians. He was, for a time, the curator at Coronado State Monument (Kuaua). He later spent the bulk of his professional career in Florida, founding the first Department of Anthropology in Florida, at the University of Florida, and was a founder of the Florida Anthropological Society. The volume is divided into 3 parts–Indian ethnology (Pueblo, Cheyenne, Florida), Florida Archeology, and Latin American Anthropology (Mexico, the Bahamas, underwater archeology). Goggin died of cancer at 46.
