Notes:  University of Colorado Studies Series in Anthropology No. 1.  Pamphlet.  From the library of the late archaeologist John Otis Brew, his signature on cover.  Peyote use among the Uintah Ute can be traced to 1914, with its introduction by a Sioux Indian.   He convinced a member of the tribe to “submit” to a peyote treatment.   Bet he didn’t have to convince anyone twice.
