Condition: Fair.  Binding tight.  No tears.  Previous owner’s blindstamp on upper corner ffep/half-title page.  Front cover has a crease near the spine edge–maybe a book was laid on it for a period of time, maybe it was bent in a box, who knows–crease extends through first 8 pages.  There’s a smaller crease on the rear cover that only goes as far as the last two pages.  Light edge and corner wear.

Notes: Facsimile reprint of the 1946 original, self-published volume, 4½” x 6″.   Rittenhouse traveled Route 66 when it was still a thing and created this log of his trip, and now it’s all nostalgia and trivia.  Little towns, trailer courts, gas stations, golf courses, places of interest.  “If you ever plan to motor west Travel my way, take the highway that’s the best, Get your kicks on Route 66”  (Bobby Troup wrote the song in 1946, after a cross-country trip.  It was first recorded by Nat King Cole, also in 1946.  Troup was later married to the singer/actress Julie London, and appeared in the movie MASH.  Told ya it was all nostalgia and trivia).
