Condition: Fair.  Binding tight.  No marks, tears, folds.  The first few pages of the front matter and up to Page 9 feel like they’ve had water damage along the upper edge of the pages, but there are no marks or stains, only wrinkling (not severe).  Upper corner Page 9 bent.  Sun fading to spine and rear spine edge.  Edge and corner wear.

Notes: “Temalpakh” translates to “From the Earth” in the Cahuilla language.  An ethnobotany of the Cahuilla, the first since David Prescott Barrows “Ethno-botany of the Coahuilla Indians of Southern California”, published in 1900 by the University of Chicago Press and reprinted by the Malki Museum Press in 1977.  Covers more than 250 plants and their uses–for food, religious purposes, medicine, basketry, housing.  Arranged alphabetically by Latin name.  Includes a section on Indian agriculture in Southern California.
