Condition: Book: Fair.  Binding tight.  No tears, bends or folds.  Previous owner’s name on upper edge ffep.  Three corrected pages laid in, along with Errata slip.  Upper front board edge has an indentation (bumped there?).   Upper rear board edge has a similar, but slightly larger indentation.  Half a dozen small spots on side text block.  Some corner wear.  Dust Jacket: Poor to Fair.  NOT price clipped.  Numerous chips, small tears, discoloration, assorted edge wear.  Now in mylar

Notes: This is a History Book Club edition, second printing.  Originally published in 1968 in Mexico as “El Mundo Olmeca“.   The dedication is “To the memory of Miguel Covarrubias, the last of the Olmecs”  The Olmec were the first Mesoamerican civilization, dating from approximately 1500-400 B.C.E., and they laid the foundations for the civilizations that followed.   In Nahuatl the word Olmec means “rubber people.”  The Errata slip describes three pages with printing defects, all three correct pages inserted.
