Condition:  Fair.  Binding tight.  No marks, tears.  Lower front cover corner has an approx. 1/2″ bend.  Upper rear cover corner has an approx. 3″ bend, with last page having an approx. 1″ bend.  One small spot on side text block.  Edge and corner wear.

Notes: Papers of the New World Archaeological Foundation Number Thirty.  Low relief standing sculptures in the ruins of Izapa, near Tapachula, Chiapas.  The area was occupied from about 1500 B.C. through the Postclassic period (about 1000 A.D.).  Full page black-and-white photographs of the principal carved monuments on the left page, and the same photograph with outlines of the figures on the opposite page.  While the photos of the actual monuments may be hard to decipher, the outlines bring the monument to life.   The two volume set was designed so you could look at the photos in Volume 1, while reading the text descriptions of the sculptures in Volume 2.  Post-Olmec, pre-Maya.  If you’d like to purchase Volumes 1 and 2 as a set, please email mail and I’ll discount the price for the set.
