One small spot on front cover gutter–it actually looks like a gnat or small insect was smashed in the gutter, but there’s a very tiny hole there (you can see the spot in the cover image above). Spine and front and rear spine edges sun-faded. Slight edge and corner wear.
Notes: Large scale water management gets all the attention (the Salt River Project, Glen Canyon Dam, dredging of the Mississippi River for barge traffic), while small scale water management systems help to feed a third of the earth. “Indigenous” irrigation is “often more sustainable, cost-effective, and flexible…” (From the Publisher). Lots going on here–systems principles and operations, incentives for cooperation among users, allocation, conflict resolution. Irrigation in Peru, Mexico, Bali, Morocco, Somalia, Sri Lanka, the Cape Verde Islands. “Archaeological traces, historical documents, and ethnographic cases all indicate that the most common and enduring irrigation systems…are small, locally built, farmer managed, and adapted to a wide variety of environments.” (Pages 4-5)
