Notes: Pamphlet. A history of the operations to bring German rocket scientists to the United States to work on rocket (and weapons) developments. Fort Bliss, in El Paso, Texas, and White Sands Proving Ground, near Alamogordo, New Mexico, served as the primary U.S. bases for Wernher von Braun and his team of German rocket scientists. Aside from whitewashing some who had Nazi affiliations, the U.S. government gave the Germans American citizenship (offered through the American embassy in Mexico). These early steps led to the beginnings of NASA (in 1958), and eventually to the moon landing (in 1969). VERY RARE. No other copies available for sale.
