Notes:  Autobiography.   Introduction by John Rothchild, who edited 200 hours of Douglas’s taped remembrances.   Douglas, author of the nature classic “The Everglades: River of Grass”  (Rinehart & Co., 1947). was actually an accomplished and often published writer long before “The Everglades: River of Grass” was published.  She continued her writing and environmental activism until her death at 108.  The Everglades is the single source of freshwater for ALL of south Florida.
