Notes: Facsimile reprint of the 1962 BAE Bulletin 184 The Pueblo of Sia, New Mexico.   Incredibly comprehensive look at Zia Pueblo, its population, their material culture, history, ceremonials.  Sia, or as it is now called–Zia–was the only Keresan pueblo studied ethnologically during the 19th century, by James and Matilda Coxe Stevenson.  When James died in 1888, Matilda prepared his work for publication (“The Sia”, Eleventh Annual Report of the Bureau of American Ethnology, 1894).  No other studies of the Sia/Zia were done until this one.  Strangely, this reprint edition is much rarer than the original BAE edition.
