Neil Judd originally excavated the mounds (middens) in the 1920s, with the goal of determining the sequence of pottery development, then covered the middens . W.H. (Wert) Wills re-excavated the mounds between 2004 and 2007, screening for artifacts. Over 200,000 were found. The artifacts were examined and analyzed between 2007 and 2010, and this volume is the report of those analyses.
