Notes: Hill’s Master’s thesis. The Ewing Site is located in the Yellow Jacket district of the upper San Juan region of Colorado. The site was dated as being occupied between A.D. 1040 and 1120 (Pueblo II to Pueblo III), contained 6 kivas and associated room blocks. For his thesis, Hill examined the ceramic artifacts recovered by Arthur Rohn from his excavations of the site in 1966 and 1968. The ephemera included is a photocopy of a list of ceramic samples, probably from Rohn’s original notes. VERY RARE. If there are a dozen copies of this in the world I’d be surprised. Members of Hill’s committee each got one, two libraries have copies, mom and dad (?), wife (?), this is Hill’s copy. NO other copies available.
