Condition: Fair.  Ex-corporate library.  No tears, bends, folds.  Library tag taped to lower front cover corner at spine foot, tape extends over spine to lower rear cover.  The tape is drying out, so at some point that library tag will fall off or be scraped off.  Previous owner’s (first? second?) stamp on upper corner title page.  One small pencil mark on lower corner Table of Contents page.  Includes two fold-outs.  Front cover corners slightly bowed.  Very light edge and corner wear.

No. 8: Preliminary Report of Excavations at Clear Basin Ruin: Arizona V:9:21.  Prior to the construction of an open-pit copper mine, Cities Service Corp. funded this archaeological work in east-central Arizona.  All of the sites were within the area of the proposed mine, and all would be destroyed.  “Each of these sites was situated in a different microenvironmental setting.  No two sites consisted of the same structural characteristics.  Each site represented a relatively short span of occupation, with the possible exception of the last, Cedar Basin Ruin.  All but one of the sites have been identified as being associated with the Salado, a prehistoric southwestern cultural sub-tradition that also known as ‘Western Pueblo.'”  (From the Introduction)
