Binding tight.  No tears.  Lower front cover corner has approx. 3/8″ bend.  Front cover has approx. 1″x3″ area where it appears a sticker was removed, taking a very small amount of cover color with it.  Some slight rubbing to spine edge. Some wear to edges, slight scuffing to text block.  Copy 2: Fair.  Binding tight.   No marks, tears.  Upper corner has an area that feels like it was water damaged at some point in time.  The last 3 even numbered pages have that water-mark in the upper corner.  None of the other pages have it, but that corner is stiff, upper corner bent through entire volume.  Edge and corner wear.  Appears unread.  Copy 3 (SR): Fair.  Binding tight.  No tears, folds.  Upper front cover corner has an approx. 1/4″ bend.  Previous owner’s name stamped on upper corner ffep/half-title page.  Some edge and corner wear.  Wear to spine edges, front and rear.  Copy 4: Fair.  Binding tight.  No tears, bends or folds.  Previous owner’s name stamped on upper front cover corner, on all three text blocks, and hand-written in gutter on ffep/half-title page.  Some wear to front cover spine edge.  Very light edge and corner wear.  Appears unused.

Notes: Papers of the Peabody Museum, Volume 39, No. 2.   “The site was small and inconspicuous but it lay with the frontier zone of settlement by Anasazi peoples from the north and by Mogollon peoples from the south.  For this reason it was selected for study because it appeared to have been occupied by elements of both cultural groups, probably during the 10th and 11th centuries.”  (From the Preface)  If you’ve never read Watson Smith, he’s a treat.
