Notes: If you center a map of Colorado at Silverton and go northeast to Gunnison, and southwest to Cortez you’ve pretty much covered it.  Thirteen of Colorado’s fourteeners are here, and twenty-nine of Colorado’s highest peaks are here in the San Juan’s.  Here we are forty years from first publication so this volume might best serve as a reference.  Times and tools change, and a younger generation may have found a better way.
