Condition:  Poor.   The text of the book is in pretty good shape for being 90 years old.  It’s the binding(s) and stiff paper front and rear boards that have taken the beating.  The paper tape binding is wearing.  There’s wear to all the corners and the edges.  The original cover (see photo above) has a gift inscription at the upper edge, with the donor’s (?) name scratched out.  There’s tape (?) residue on the verso edge.  Upper and lower front cover corners bent, worn.  The bottom text block has an approx. 1″ blot near the spine foot.  There’s a dampstain along the upper edge of the first couple of pages.  The map pocket at rear has worn and torn the last page of the book (it’s probably missing at least one rear endpaper, and the original rear cover).  There a hand-written/drawn map/comments slip of paper inserted at page 232.  Map pocket bent, folded at lower corner (does not affect map).  Rear board corners and edges worn, bent.  Includes 8 fold-outs.  A rebinding like this usually indicates a former library copy but I can find no library markings anywhere through the book or covers.

Notes:  Bulletin No. 11.  Dunham was an eminent British geologist who spent several seasons in the early 1930s, mapping the Organ Mountains and some surrounding areas in Doña Ana County (I would have thought of this as a dissertation, but Dunham received his doctorate in 1932, three years before this was published).  Hard-core geology, very technical.  For an obituary of Dunham see https://www.lyellcollection.org/doi/full/10.1144/pygs.54.1.63   VERY RARE.  No other copies available for sale.
