Description
Author: Spearing, Darwin (1939-)
Publisher: Mountain Press (Missoula, MT)
Pub Date: 1991. Revised and updated edition (first published 1979).
Binding: Paperback
Condition: Fair. Binding tight. No marks, tears, bends, folds. Edge and corner wear. Smudging to bottom text block. It’s been “looked at” but not too closely.
Notes: Originally published in 1979. I’m not sure how much the geology has changed, but Spearing is certainly entertaining. “…a completely new book by a new author published under the old title.” (Page ix). I especially enjoyed the section on the Texas Panhandle. I swear a place was never more aptly named (an aptonym) than Levelland, Texas. I’ve been all over the Panhandle and never thought to look at the geology, including Palo Duro Canyon. Broken down by section–Gulf Coast, Northeast, Central, West, Panhandle. Spearing also wrote Roadside Geology of Wyoming.
