Notes:  50th Annual Field Conference of the NMGS.  Three road trips exploring areas around Albuquerque.  First day from Albuquerque to Placitas and areas to the north and east of the city.  Second day from Albuquerque to Tijeras, Cedar Crest, and Sandia Crest, up into the mountains to the east of the city.   A second road trip was also available, to San Ysidro, Loma Creston, La Ceja, and the Sand Hills Fault, to the north and west of the city.  The third day went back to the east–Tijeras, Cedro Canyon, and a local brick quarry.  Papers on regional geophysics and paleomagnetics.  Four papers on the geology of the volcanoes on Albuquerque’s west mesa (and if you think they’re dead, you should take a walk on them and feel the heat coming from underground).
