Notes: I have a particular (genealogical) interest in Whipple Barracks, originally named Fort Whipple, near Prescott. Named for General Amiel Whipple, who in 1853 surveyed the route from Albuquerque across Arizona, the post was deactivated in 1913, but during World War I served as a Veterans Hospital.
