Notes: In the 1880’s, if you had told your mother you were going to work for the Fred Harvey company, she would have thought you were insane, going to hell, or a whorehouse, or maybe all three.  The Harvey Girls, working for the Fred Harvey company, were a civilizing influence on the American West.  There are still women alive today whose mothers or grandmothers worked as a Harvey Girl.  I believe this edition is a Print-on-Demand copy (Lightning Source identification on rear endpaper).
