Notes: Reprint edition of Memoirs of the National Academy of Sciences Volume XII, Part II, Second and Third Memoir, originally published in 1915.  This edition has a new Publisher’s Preface, a new introduction, a new alphabetical listing of currently operating turquoise mines (as of 1971), a new list of references and bibliography, and 16 additional color plates.  The first printing of the reprinted edition had two duplicated photos which were corrected in the second and subsequent printings.
