Notes: Pamphlet. Offprint. Extrait des Mémoires et Délibérations du XVe Congrès Des Américanistes Tenu a Québec, Du 10 Au 15 September 1906 (Extract from the Memoirs and Deliberations of the XVth Congress of Americanists Held in Quebec, September 10-15, 1906). Turquoise, nephrite, jadeite, beryl, chalcedony, obsidian, amber, and catlinite (pipestone). Remarkably easy to read. VERY RARE. NO copies available for sale, and held in only 4 libraries. Kunz was a self-taught mineralologist who wrote, over the course of his life, more than 300 articles. The jewel Kunzite (see photo), a variety of spodumene, is named for him. Interestingly, his second wife’s name was Opal.
