Notes: Pamphlet.  “The Museum of Northern Arizona opened its doors in the Flagstaff Woman’s Club building in 1928, and now, after twenty-five years, its history can be recorded and its accomplishments evaluated.” The museum was founded by Colton and his wife, Mary-Russell Colton. (Colton, History of the Museum of Northern Arizona, Page 1).  Essays on geological research by the museum, biological research, anthropology (by Katharine Bartlett, the first curator of the Museum, then librarian, and finally archivist until her retirement), and the art department at the museum, a program begun by Mary-Russell Colton.  Includes a bibliography of Museum publications (through 1952).  I’ll never forget Lex Lindsay asking me if I’d ever heard of Ned Danson (the second director of the MNA, after Colton retired in 1958), and giving me a lecture on Danson and the Museum.  A Sunday afternoon well spent.  VERY RARE.  No other copies available for sale.
