Condition: Fair.  Comb binding tight, no missing or broken teeth.  Clear plastic front and rear covers.  No tears, bends or folds.  Partial title and author hand written in white on black comb binding.  Slight edge and corner wear.  With the exception of the writing on the spine, appears unused.

Notes: Prior to the construction of the Ridges Basin dam south of Durango, CO, the Bureau of Reclamation hired CASA (Complete Archaeological Service Associates) to survey two areas planned to provide borrow material for the dam construction.  “During the inventory, 806 acres were inventoried, including 366 acres in the Wheeler Survey Area and 440 acres in the Koshak Survey Area.  Forty-three newly recorded and three previously recorded archaeological sites were found with the Wheeler Survey Area.  In the Koshak Survey Area, three new archaeological sites were recorded.  Ten sites appear to date to the A.D. 700s or 800s, or during the Basketmaker III and Pueblo I periods of the Anasazi occupation of the Durango area.  Two of the other sites may date to the Basketmaker II period, or between A.D. 1 and 400, and the third site is a historic homestead occupied historically by the Koshak family.”  (From the Introduction)  Construction of the Ridges Basin dam created Lake Nighthorse.  VERY RARE.  NO other copies available for sale, and not held in any OCLC libraries.
