Condition: Poor to Fair. Front cover separated from rear cover at spine (stapled) edge, now taped. Several chips to front and rear covers. Three folds, one at upper front cover corner, one at each rear cover corner.
Notes: Geology Leaflet 8. Agate is silica without water. The name “agate” is said to derive from the river Achates, in Sicily, where agate was supposedly first found. The Sumerians were thought to be the first to use agate as a tool/weapon (an axe head in the American Museum of Natural History, dated between 3000 and 2300 B.C.). Technical but fairly easy to read. Archaeomineralogy. VERY RARE.
