Publisher: University of Oklahoma Press

Condition: Fair to Good. Binding tight. No tears, bends or folds. Without dust jacket. Previous owner bound the book in a clear plastic film. Now the only marks in the book are from the aging tape on the end papers. Some smudging to bottom text block. Very light edge and corner wear.
Noes: Considered a classic of western history. After the Civil War, regular army units replaced the volunteer units that had been “holding the fort.” Not really a volume on the Indian Wars, though that’s a significant part of the volume, more a look at the common snuffy and what he went through in far-flung western forts from the Canadian border south to Texas and west to California.
