Description

Author: Michener, Charles D.

Publisher: Harvard University Press

Pub Date: 1974

Binding: Hardcover

Condition: Book: Fair to Good.  Binding tight.  No tears.  Rear end paper folded twice, but now flattened.  Smudging to top and bottom of text block.  All four corners bumped.  Dust Jacket: Fair to Good:  Several closed tears, front and back.  Edge wear.  Wear to head of spine.  Now in mylar.

Notes:  Not just the honeybee, but “the first to offer a systematic account of social behavior in the entire superfamily Apoidea.”  This is VERY scholarly, but if you want to know why a bee does something, there’s an answer in here.  It may take you a while to decipher it, but it’s here.  Perhaps a graduate level Biology text.
