Notes: Facsimile reprint of codex belonging to Lord Zouche of Harynworth, England.  Nuttall hired an artist to reproduce the screenfold (see photo above for example) manuscript, which was then republished by the Peabody Museum in 1902.  “The most significant, at least the best-understood, subject matter of the Nuttall screenfold is that which depicts and describes by means of iconographic, ideographic and phonetic symbols the events in the life of a great military and political hero from south central Mexico: 8-Deer Tiger Claw.  8-Deer Tiger Claw was the second ruler of the second dynasty of Tilantongo.  He lived from 1011 A.D. to 1063 A.D.” (“Reading the Codex Nuttall,” p. xv)  With the advances made in deciphering these glyphs, a real-time narrative of the codex would make this incredibly more interesting.
