Condition: Fair.  The wire binding is tight, no bent rings.  No marks, tears, bends or folds.  Without dust jacket, as issued.  Numerous chips on all edges.  Some scratching, wear to front and rear boards. Foxing to pages.  Photos are all tight, none loose, none folded or bent.  Some spotting to bottom text block.

Notes: This is a portfolio of 60 tipped-in color photographs of National Parks, monuments, and various scenic locations in the mostly western United States, Canada, and (at the time) the territory of Hawaii.  Descriptions/histories/assorted factoids of the areas are printed behind the photos.  Apparently the single photos were promotional giveaways at Standard Oil gas stations in the late 1940s, attempting to get people to travel more (and buy more gasoline).  This volume of the collected photographs was previously owned by a man named Jack McNeil Campbell, who, according to his obituary (see http://obits.abqjournal.com/obits/search?page=5192&query=albuquerque ) was a district manager for Standard Oil, both before and after World War II.  His (misspelled) name is embossed on the front cover.  No statement of who did the photographs, but there’s a raft of photographic information accompanying the descriptions (lens, filter, exposure, time of day, season, etc.).  Horizontal format, 11 x 16.  RARE.
