Description
Author: Riddle, Kenyon (1890-1957)
Publisher: Raton Daily Range
Pub Date: 1949
Binding: Hardcover
Condition: Fair to Good. Binding tight. No marks, tears. Without dust jacket, as issued. Upper corner of page 31 has an approx. 1/4″ bend. Missing the maps (that doesn’t seem to be uncommon for this edition), though the rear endpaper seems to have had a map pocket at one time. Some discoloration on that rear endpaper (from the missing map pocket). Gilt on spine and front board still sharp, easily readable. Very light edge and corner wear.
Notes: This is a revised and expanded edition of the 1948 paperback. (See https://joethebookguy.com/shop/history/records-and-maps-of-the-old-santa-fe-trail/) Riddle and his brother spent years mapping the exact routes of the Santa Fe Trail. The Trail was in use for approximately 60 years, from 1821 until 1880, when the Santa Fe Railroad was completed.
