Condition:  Volume 1: Fair to Good.  Binding tight.  No marks, tears, bends or folds.  Some very small spots on front and rear covers (pencil point size).  Errata slip laid in.  Smudging to bottom text block.  Very light edge and corner wear.  Appears unused.

Volume 2: Fair.  Binding tight.  No marks, tears, bends or folds.  A couple of spots on lower front cover edge and upper rear cover edge.  Smudging to bottom text block.  Some edge and corner wear.

Volume 3: Fair.  Binding tight.  No marks, tears, folds.  Bottom front cover corner has an approx. 3″ bend, with a smaller 1″ bend on ffep/title page.  Upper rear cover corner has an approx. 1″ bend.  A couple of small spots on lower rear cover edge.Smudging to bottom text block.  Some edge and corner wear.

Volume 4: Good.  Binding tight.  No marks, tears, bends or folds.  Very light edge and corner wear.  Appears unused.

Volume 5: Fair.  Binding tight.  No marks, tears, bends or folds.  Some small spots on lower front cover edge.  Edge and corner wear.

Notes: SOLD AS A SET ONLY.  MAPCO = Mid-America Pipeline Company.  The MAPCO pipeline is a 12″ diameter high-pressure petroleum pipeline running from northwest to southeast New Mexico, both large oil and natural gas producing areas.

Volume 1:  Cultural Resources along the MAPCO Four Corners Pipeline: Huerfano Station, New Mexico to Hobbs Station, Texas.  “A total of 120 sites was recorded during the initial survey of the pipeline corridor, 34 sites were recorded as a result of discovery situations and subsequent survey of access roads and fencelines, 355 isolated occurrences, and 58 current cultural loci were also recorded…Paleoindian, Archaic, Anasazi, Mogollon, Navajo, Spanish colonial, U.S. territorial , and recent components were recorded…The Class III survey implemented a non-collection strategy that involved in-field data analyses, site mapping, and recording.  The 100% survey of approximately 401.5 linear miles (646 km) covered 6,565 acres (2,658 ha)  During the initial survey 36 previously recorded sites were relocated and 84 new sites were recorded.”  (From the Abstract)

Volume 2: Data Recovery along the 1995 MAPCO Four Corners Pipeline:  Sites in the San Juan Basin/Colorado Plateau, Sandoval, San Juan, and Mckinley Counties, New Mexico.  “This volume describe the data recovery and presents the artifact analyses for 13 sites investigated in the San Juan Basin and Colorado Plateau portion of the pipeline project…This volume also summarizes the analyses of ceramics, lithics, and archeofaunal and paleobotanical remains.” (From the Abstract)

Volume 3: Data Recovery along the 1995 MAPCO Four Corners Pipeline: Sites in the Jemez and Las Huertas Drainages, Sandoval County, New Mexico.  “This volume summarizes OCA’s investigations at 26 sites in the Jemez and Las Huertas drainages…Chapters 2 through 27 are descriptions of the data recovery at the 26 sites…Eighteen sites with Archaic and early Formative period occupations were recorded in the Jemez Valley and two were recorded in the Las Huerta drainage.  Seventeen sites with Puebloan or protohistoric occupations were encountered in the Jemez Valley.”  (From the Project Overview).

Volume 4: Data Recovery along the 1995 MAPCO Four Corners Pipeline: Artifact Analysis for Sites in the Jemez and Las Huertas Drainages, Sandoval County, New Mexico.    Primarily a continuation of Volume 3, with analyses of the ceramic, lithic, archeofaunal and archeobotanical artifacts.

Volume 5: Data Recovery along the 1995 MAPCO Four Corners Pipeline: Prehistoric and Historic Occupations in the Estancia Basin, Pecos River Drainage, and Mescalero Sands, Torrance, De Baca, and Chaves Counties, New Mexico.  Data recovery and analyses for sites occupied during the late Paleoindian, Archaic, Neoarchaic, Formative, and American homestead eras.  Artifact assemblages include lithics, ceramics, faunal and botanical remains, and pollen.  This volume covers the pipeline areas through south-central and southeastern New Mexico.
