Description

Author: Yamaguchi, K.M.

Publisher: Yamagata Press

Pub Date: 1950 (Combined edition)

Binding: Hardcover (sewn binding in clamshell)

Condition: Good.  Sewn binding tight.  No tears, bends or folds.  Limp cloth covered boards.  Vertical paper label with title on front cover and spine of clamshell.  Clamshell has some sun fading, but is otherwise in good condition.  Bone clasp.  Because this is printed on rice paper some pages are uncut, but that prevented printing bleed-through, and made the book twice as thick as if it were printed back-to-back on each page.

Notes: Signed and dated by K.M. Yamaguchi, the principal author, on the first page, the statement of editions printed (see photos).  This is a combination almanac, history, dictionary, and travel guide.  Really quite extraordinary, especially signed (NO signed copies available).  This Combined edition is the second printing of Book 3 (the printing history is told in the introduction by Yamaguchi-san).  For more information on the Fujiya Hotel and the book see http://www.baxleystamps.com/litho/meiji/fujiya_hotel.shtml
