Description

Author: Snodgrass, R.E.  (Robert Evans) (1875-1962)

Publisher: Smithsonian Institution

Pub Date: 1925

Binding: Paperback

Condition: Good.  Binding tight.  No marks, tears, bends or folds.  This was originally a report from the hardcover 1923 Annual Report of the Smithsonian Institution.  That volume was falling apart and I had this report rebound in paperback.

Notes: Pamphlet.  Primarily concerned with three families of the Order Orthoptera–grasshoppers, katydids and crickets–and a family of the Order Hemiptera–the cicadas.  Some other insects do make sounds–some beetles, ants, and the queen bee–but those are beyond the range of any but professional entomologists (or some beekeepers).  Great drawings.
