Notes: This was a New Mexico standard from the day it was printed in 1965 until the day it went out of print and was supplanted in 1996 by Bob Julyan’s The Place Names of New Mexico (see https://joethebookguy.com/shop/indian/the-place-names-of-new-mexico/ ).  The information was originally collected during the Depression as part of the Federal Writers Project. This title, like Kidder’s An Introduction to the Study of Southwestern Archaeology is one I’ll pick up every time I see one.  A standard reference.
