Notes: Reprint edition.  Originally published in 1914 by Knickerbocker Press.  Subtitle:   “Including an Account of the Battle of Sand Creek, and of Occurrences in El Paso County, Colorado, during the War with the Cheyennes and Arapahoes, in 1864 and 1868.”  Probably should be read more as “Indian Troubles of the Pike’s Peak Region”–the author participated in the Sand Creek Massacre–and is anxious to tell the tale.  At least half the book is Sand Creek, with more on the Indian conflicts of 1864 and 1868.
