Pub Date: 1910

Binding: Paperback (pamphlet)

Condition: 2 copies.  Copy 1 (LC): Fair.  Stapled binding tight.  Previous owner’s name in pencil on upper front cover edge.   A second, much lighter pencil mark near upper front cover corner.  Lower rear cover corner missing an approx. 1/2″ x 1/2″ piece.   Lower rear cover corner at spine foot missing and approx. 1/4″ x 1/2″ chip.  Upper rear cover corner has an approx. 6-7″ bend.  Numerous chips, tears to all cover edges (it’s those damn overlapping edges that take the beating).  Smudging to front cover.  Copy 2 (DU): Fair to Good.  Stapled binding tight.  With the exception of some wear to the lower corner, front and rear, and some sun-fading to the spine, this copy is in great shape for being 110+ years old.  I should be so lucky.  Copy 3 (DU):  Fair.  Stapled binding tight.  No folds.  Previous owner’s name and location near bottom front cover edge.  Numerous chips, dings on both bottom and top edges, front and rear.  Lower rear cover corner at spine foot has two “smallish” 1/8″ tears.  Edge and corner wear.  Copy 4 (DU): Poor.  Ex-library (twice!).  Probably at least 4 previous owners, including the libraries.   The stapled binding is there, but it’s a close thing.  The front and rear covers are taped at the spine edge.  Library tag on lower front cover corner at spine foot.  Two library stamps on upper front cover edge, with some associated pencil marks  Library card and pocket on inside rear cover.  Third (?) previous owner’s stamp on front cover bottom edge, bottom of first page, and rear cover.  The lower front cover corner is missing an unusually shaped (say 2″x 3″, but there’s not a word to describe the missing piece.  Lower front cover corner has an approx. 4″ bend.  If the day ever comes when this is my last copy, I’ll donate it to you.

Notes: Papers of the School of American Archaeology Number Thirteen.  A “chatty” bibliography about the Indian tribes on the Rio Grande.
