Notes: MNA Research Paper 4. NPS originally wanted to put in a drainage system at Tuzigoot and hired the MNA to study the “impacts” that system would have on the monument. Long story short, the MNA found lots of reasons to abandon that idea. “One of the major results of this project has been the identification of the tremendous research potential at Tuzigoot….the prehistoric abandonment of the Verde Valley in general, and Tuzigoot in particular, has never been explained or even adequately studied.” (From the Introduction)
