Address delivered in 1933 to the AAAS. “Reprinted from the Pan-American Geologist, Volume LX, August 1933” Glock was one of the pioneers in the fields of dendroclimatology and dendrochronology. Douglass began the study of tree-ring dating in 1901, after finding a correlation between sun spot activity and tree rings.
