Notes: Pamphlet. Offprint? I’m not sure if this is an offprint of The Kiva article (Vol. 49, Nos. 1-2, 1983) or was excised from that edition. Hunters of the archaic Pinto Basin Complex at the Grand Canyon may or may not be related to the Grand Canyon Split-Twig Figurine Complex. “Although no direct association of artifacts from the Pinto and Figurine complexes has yet been recorded, the proximity of the Red Butte Pinto sites to the Grand Canyon caves yielding figurines, coupled with a similar chronology, suggested a hypothesis that the split-twig figurines may have been made and placed in the caves by Pinto hunters.” (pages 67-68). No single copies of this are available, hence RARE.
