Condition: Fair. Wire-o binding tight, no deformed teeth. No tears, bends or folds. Some very slight liquid staining along bottom front cover edge, with some spotting on bottom text block. Light corner and edge wear.
Notes: When skeletal artifacts were discovered during the construction of an addition to their home, the owners of this site (LA 128844) hired McIntosh to conduct a PRIVATE archaeological survey. McIntosh took the work quite seriously and presented the owners with a 138 page report, detailing a history of site as well as the Pojoaque Valley in northern New Mexico, along with discussions of the artifacts recovered (ceramic, lithic, faunal, historic). “Contemporaneous with the 11th Century Manges Site were the pueblos of Otowi, San Ildefonso, Cuyamungue, Pojoaque, Nambe, and perhaps Jacona.” (From the Conclusions). VERY VERY RARE. NO other copies available for sale, not held in a single OCLC library, the Laboratory of Anthropology library in Santa Fe, or the Library of Congress. Privately printed, either by the author or the homeowners. If there are ten copies of this report out there in the world, I’d be surprised. This copy came from the library of the late archaeologist David Hill, who undoubtedly did the ceramic analysis for the survey.
