Cañada de las Milpas = Cornfield Canyon “…We now have reasonably complete information for a large portion of the Middle Rio Puerco…These locations show a consistent regional settlement history, with gradual increases in population from the late 1100s until around 1250, then gradual decrease culminating in complete abandonment in the early 1300s. The settlement history of this region parallels, rather than complements, that of the Mesa Verde area.” (From the Foreword)
