Notes: Journal.  Three essays and a book review.  The lead essay–The Fish-Carrying Pole of the Mimbres–by Brian S. Shaffer and Karen M. Gardner details a tool–a pole for carrying fish–showing an uncommon technology unknown in the Mimbres ceramic record.  Fish account for approximately 11 percent of the animal motifs in Mimbres pottery, and only two examples of fish exploitation are shown in the Mimbres archaeological record.  The second essay, by Stephen H. Lekson and Allen S. Rorex, examines The Cottonwood Spring and Indian Tank Sites, two Jornada Mogollon sites.  The final essay, Archaeological Reconnaissance of the Caves at Sinkhole Flat, Eddy County, New Mexico, by Victor J. Polyak and James C. Cokendolpher, deals with two lithic scatter sites, with hearths and pottery sherds, in southeastern New Mexico.  The book review is for The Rock Art of Easter Island, by Georgia Lee.  VERY RARE.  No other copies available for sale.
