Notes: Journal.  Hill and a summer field crew made it a point to build a pithouse using only native materials scrounged from the forest and desert.  As with all things you do yourself, you learn something.  Wellman’s essay elaborates on the use of style in rock art “…as an independent clue to the time and place of origin…”  Wiseman puts the kibosh (there’s something about that phrase…) on “…the results of Wimberley and Rogers’ test concerning a correlation between increasing redware frequency with increasing elevation are mostly spurious.” And John Davis reviews 3 (new then) Mimbres pottery volumes.  Some scarcer than others today.  Classics come and go.
