Condition: Fair.  Stapled binding tight.  No tears.  Upper front cover corner has an approx. 1/8″ bend.  One approx. 4″ crease/fold from lower front cover edge toward mid-front cover (I think this is a printer fault, rather than wear and tear).  Upper rear cover corner has an approx. 1/4″ bend.  One approx. 8″ crease/fold from lower rear cover edge past mid-cover (again, I think this is a printer fault).  Light edge wear.

Notes:  Journal.  Warren’s very brief essay covers a short history of glaze ware, then charts of Major Centers of Trade, Pueblo Trade Pottery Found on Plains Sites, then references.   “Glaze paint began to replace carbon and mineral paints in the Rio Grande Valley shortly after A.D. 1300 when skilled potters arrived from the west.  Extensive trade was carried out from the beginning of manufacture through the 400 years of production of glaze wares.”  (From the Abstract)  The skilled potters were probably from Zuni and/or the Little Colorado area of Arizona.

The secondary essay “Deming Ranchette Site Survey” examines “Several pre-ceramic lithic sites and two Brownware sites located west of the Florida Mountains in Luna County, New Mexico….Due to lack of evidence for a permanent occupation it is concluded that the sites were visited by migratory hunting and foraging type populations.” (From the Abstract)
