Notes: SAR Arroyo Hondo Archaeological Series No. 3. At its height Arroyo Hondo had approximately 1000 rooms clustered around ten plazas. “The town’s active life lasted slightly more than a century, encompassing two separate episodes of rapid growth, each followed by precipitous decline. To understand both its dynamic and its transitory nature, Arroyo Hondo must be seen from two perspective externally, as part of a centuries-long expansion and contraction of agricultural villages in response to climate change in the northern Rio Grande region…” (From the Foreword). Other single volumes are also available, as well as a six volume set (volumes 1-6) of the series (See https://joethebookguy.com/shop/archaeology/arroyo-hondo-archaeological-series-6-volume-set-volumes-1-6/ )
