Notes: ISBN on book is from Museum of New Mexico Press, the book’s distributor. Ostensibly a history of the San Cristobal Ranch, the book covers a thousand years of history in the Galisteo Basin, a large valley south and east of Santa Fe, and north and east of Albuquerque. The Tewa were early settlers in the basin, but they were displaced by Spanish settlers and didn’t return until the early 1700’s, and then left again in the late 1700’s. It’s been ranching and mining since then. Lots of color photos. A handsome volume. A hardcover edition of this title is also available.
