Notes: Festschrift.   Steward (1902-1972) is probably best known for being the editor of the massive Handbook of South American Indians  but his work in the Great Basin is where he made his bones.  I hate to be cliched about this title but the subject matter is all over the map–Asia, Africa, Europe, South America, the Caribbean, western United States, all variously related to Steward’s work.
